If you to Sinai look, your heart is filled with dread,

For justice must, with every stroke, strike guilty sinners dead.

But if God gives you grace, from self to look away,

And look to Christ alone for grace, then justice smiles your way.

By trusting Christ for all, our sin-atoning Priest,

We magnify God’s holy law, and live in sabbath rest.

This blessed rest of faith, is God’s alone to give.
