Teach me, my Savior, how to live

On earth to honor You:

Teach me to magnify Your name

In all I say, or do.

Bridle my tongue by inward grace,

That I may not complain

Against my Father's providence,

Or cause His children pain.

Jesus was thoughtful, kind and good

While He lived here below:

Enable me by deeds of love

My Savior's love to show.

Yet, Lord, I want more than a show

Of outward, moral good:

Give me a heart of love and faith,

To magnify my God.
