Dear Lord, I ask for grace Divine,

To keep this feeble heart of mine:

Let me never forsake my God,

Or trample on the Savior's blood.

Hold me, Lord, by Your grace, I pray,

In the blessed and heavenly way:

Let me never forsake Your cause,

Though flesh, the world and Satan call.

I've seen so many others fall,

Who seemed to stand above us all:

O Lord, unless You hold me fast,

I know I'd be like them at last.

I am a sinful child of flesh,
