Free grace wrote my name in the book

Of life before the worlds were made,

Secured my everlasting good

Through Christ, God’s Son, my covenant Head.

Free grace constrained the Lamb of God

To leave His lofty throne above,

Assume my nature, (flesh and blood),

To die for me - Behold, His love!

Free grace sought me when I was lost

And made me willing to believe,

Showed me the glory of the cross;

And now, by faith in Christ, I live!

Free grace has kept me from the first

Though I am weak and full of sin,

And yet will keep me till, at last,

My Savior brings me home to Him.

Free grace alone I will extol,

As long as God may give me breath.

Free grace, the comfort of my soul,

I will extol with my last breath!
