Defiled by sin, corrupt within,

All that I am and do is sin;

In all my vileness, Lord, I come

For grace and mercy through Your Son.

Wash me and cleanse me, gracious God,

Through Jesus' sin-atoning blood;

Sprinkle my heart, Spirit of grace,

And give my guilty conscience peace.

Though I cannot one sin erase,

Or do one work of righteousness,

By faith, O Christ, I see, I see,

You have atonement made for me!

Is it true? My God, am I called?

Has Christ redeemed me from the fall?

With faith and love and gratitude,

I consecrate myself to You.
