Don Fortner

(Tune: #46 Oh, For A Thousand Tongues -- CM )

Our Advocate upon His throne,

Our King who reigns in love,

Christ lives on high to carry on

       His peoples’ cause above.

For all who come to God by Him,

       Salvation He demands:

Points to our names upon His breast,

       And spreads His wounded hands.

“Father, I will each sinner bought

       With sin-atoning blood

Be with me where I am,” (Blest thought!)

       “Before the throne of God.”

The merits of His sacrifice

       Give power to His claim;

       And justice satisfied now cries,

       “Forgive each soul redeemed!”

Eternal life, at His request,

       Is to His people giv’n,

Safety on earth, and, after death,

       The blessedness of heav’n!

Now that You’ve in Your kingdom come,

       Blest Savior, look on me:

Helpless, I fall before Your throne.

                                    Dear Lord, remember me!
