RADIO MESSAGE
Where did this world come from? Last week scientists from all over the world were terribly excited by the fact than any comet in two hundred years. I read their comments and listened to their interviews on national television with almost as much interest as I read "Peanuts" or watch "Bugs Bunny". Those well learned men of science have determined that the comets in space hold the secrets to the orgine of our planet. "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools" (Rom. 1:22).
The Word of God holds the secret to the orgin of this world. "In The beginning God created the heaven and the earth'" (Gen. 1:1). The Lord God, by the word of his power, spoke this world into existence out of nothing. Without any effort of labor, in the ease of his majestic power and sovereign splendor, God spoke the universe into being. He could have done it all instantaneously. But in his wisdom he took six days to create the earth and all it contains.
The unbelieving evolutionst is full of questions and faced with perplexing facts, simply because he rejects the most self-evident and indisputable facts. "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" (Ps. 14:1). Because he has already made up his mind that God is not, the fool (We will call him a scientist if he likes, but God calls him a fool.) has set out to prove that God is not. We are told, and expected to believe, that man and all other creatures just evolved by unexplainable laws of nature into their present form over a period of countless billions of years. The human body is the most wonderful, most mysterious thing in all the world. Even today, modern medicine does not understand all of its functions. Yet we are expected to believe that it just happened. Isn't that a joke? I drive a Ford Fairmont. Granted, it is not the best automobile made in the world, but it is a fairly good machine. Let's suppose that you came up to me and said, "Where did that car come from?" Now if I said to you, "My great, great grandfather threw a bolt out into his back yard when he was a boy two hundred years ago, or two billion years ago; and one day I looked out my window and there sat this Ford Fairmont". You would say, "Come on, you're putting me on!" And you would be right. That's just what I say to those who tell us that man just evolved from a tiny, insignificant piece of matter, "Come on, you're joking, you're putting me on. You don't really believe that." The fact that my car is the machine it is tells me that someone who was machinically wise made it. And the fact that this world and this body in which I live is so precise and mysteriously orderly tells me that Someone, higher, wiser, stronger than man created it. Evolution is contrary to every principle of human wisdom, and every principle of science. There is only one reason for men embracing evolution. They are deliberately ignorant fools who reject the counsel of God against themselves.
We will give God praise as our Creator, and worship him. "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well" (Ps. 139:14).
Where did this world come from? Hear the Word of God. Christ our God created it. "All things,were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist" (Col. 1:16-17). The Lord our God created this world and all things in it. He rules this world in providence. He maintains this world in wisdom. And one day all of this world and all men in it will bring forth honor and glory to him. Every knee shall bow to him, and every tongue shall confess his praise as the Lord, our Sovereign Creator. Let us praise him today. Step outdoors a moment and give thanks to the Lord God who made this vast universe. He is the One who feeds you, clothes you, and maintains your life.
