Christ - The Second Person Of The Holy Trinity

I John 5:7

Errors concerning the Trinity and the distinct personality and Godhead of our Lord Jesus Christ are abundant. And where there is error regarding the Person of Christ error regarding his work will follow. We must be clear in our understanding. JESUS CHRIST IS GOD THE SON, THE SECOND PERSON OF THE HOLY TRINITY.All true be- lievers are Trinitarians. "There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." Can language be more specifically clear? This is the doctrine of the Bible. There is only one true and living God. "Hear, O Israel, the Lord thy God is one LORD" (Deut. 6:4). This one God subsists in three separate and distinct Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is not the Son nor the Spirit. The Son is not the Father nor the Spirit. The Spirit is not the Son nor the Father. But the three divine Persons in the Trinity are one God, in every way, at all times, and in all things perfectly equal.

OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IS GOD THE ETERNAL SON, THE ONLY BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER (John 1:14; Matt. 17:5). Christ did not become the Son of God in time. He ever was, ever is, and ever shall be the Son of God. He is the eternally begotten Son. No man can explain that! But all who are born of God believe it! This is the foundation upon which the church is built - "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God"(Matt. 16:16). To deny our Savior's eternal Deity and eternal Sonship is to deny the whole gospel (I John 2:22-23). Our eternal election stands or falls with the eternal Sonship of Christ, for we were chosen in him before the foundation of the world(Eph.1:4; II Tim.1:9).Our redemption stands or falls with the eternal Sonship of Christ, for he is the Lamb that was "slain before the foundation of the world" (Rev. 13:8). Our eternal preservation stands or falls with the eternal Sonship of Christ, for nothing can survive to eternity but that which came from eternity. Our Lord said, "Because I live, ye shall live also" (John 14:19). Only God the eternal Son can save us and make us accepted in himself, as the sons of God!
