Romans 8:30

God has sovereignly predestinated all his elect to be conformed to the image of Christ, and he accomplishes this purpose by his immaculate grace in regeneration, sanctification, and glorification. Predestination is God's sovereign, eternal, unalterable arrangement of all things in his eternal purpose, by which he secured the everlasting salvation of his elect. In eternal predestination God determined who he would save, how he would save, when he would save, and where he would save. And the Lord our God graciously and wisely predestinated all that ever comes to pass in providence, wisely arranging every detail, in order to effectually accomplish the eternal salvation of his own elect, "to the praise of the glory of his grace". Nothing is left to chance. Nothing is subject to the will of Satan. Nothing is determined by the whims of men. The eternal salvation of God's elect has been arranged in divine predestination; and God is sovereignly ruling the affairs of the universe to accomplish his purpose of predestination that we should "be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren."
