"Ye Also Ought To Wash One Another's Feet"

John 13:15

When our Lord Jesus washed his disciples' feet, he gave us an example of self-denying humility and ser- vice, motivated by nothing but love, and commanded us to do the same thing to one another. It was a PROVIDENTIAL SERVICE. Providence afforded our Lord an opportunity to do something for his brethren. And he seized the opportunity. It was a NEEDED SERVICE. The disciples' feet were dirty and needed washing. So he who saw the need, having the ability to do so, fulfilled the need. It was a COMFORTING SERVICE. How refreshing it is to have your feet washed! And it was a HUMBLE SERVICE. The Lord of all humbled himself to serve all! God, give me grace that I may so serve your children in this world.
