"The Glory Of The Lord Filled The House!"

I Kings 8:11

The temple had been built at Jerusalem, precisely as God had directed. The furnishings were all in place. The priests were all in order. And the temple was a beautiful structure. But one thing was missing, without which everything else was vain and meaningless. The ark of the covenant, the mercy-seat, was not there - Christ was not there! But when the priests brought in the ark, "The glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD!" Oh, may it so come to pass in the house of the Lord today! Without Christ's manifest presence in our midst, our gathering here is in vain.
