"THE LORD LOOKETH ON THE HEART"

I Samuel 16:7

When will we ever learn this? God is not impressed by our outward forms of religion, our outward works of righteousness, our outward show of piety, and our outward "acts" of devotion. That which is seen by men and applauded by men is an abomination to God. "God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth." God is worshipped in the heart and the only heart that worships him is a heart of truth and sincerity. Without true, sincere love, faith and submission to Christ, all the outward things of religion will only drag our souls down to hell.
